Escaped Philly Prisoner Alleem Bordan Taken Into Custody: Feds

The U.S. Marshals Service said Alleem Bordan, who escaped custody Monday morning, was taken into custody Thursday in Cambria County.

PHILADELPHIA — The most recent person to escape custody in Philadelphia has been apprehended, authorities said.

Alleem Bordan, 29, was taken into custody, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Bordan was capture in Johnstown, Cambria County, at about 2 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.

He was driven to Johnstown by two of his associates from in Philadelphia, according to authorities

An apartment where he was suspected to be was surrounded at about 11 a.m. Thursday, but Bordan was not located.

Bordan was found hiding in a crawl space in another Johnstown apartment, where authorities had to drag him out.

He is being held in Cambria County.

Federal authorities said he has a criminal history in Johnstown.

Numerous tips regarding Bordan came in, but a few proved to be crucial in securing Bordan's apprehension, U.S. Marshals said Thursday.

Bordan escaped custody at about 6:42 a.m. Monday at Temple University's Episcopal Hospital at 100 Lehigh Ave. while still cuffed.

Federal authorities said Bordan slipped away from Marshals Tuesday afternoon after learning he may have been at a property on the 5300 block of West Columbia Avenue.

Bordan ran from the property when Marshals announced themselves there, with authorities saying he jumped down a 30-foot embankment onto SEPTA tracks.

Despite Marshals and K9 units searching for him, Bordan was not located Tuesday.

It's unclear if anyone will be charged with aiding and abetting Bordan.
