Flyers Score 2 Goals In Final Minute, Force Overtime Vs. Coyotes
The Flyers scored two goals in the final minute of regulation Monday night to force an overtime period and guarantee themselves a point.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Flyers put forth a Herculean effort against the Arizona Coyotes Monday night, scoring two goals in the final minute of the third period to force an overtime and guarantee themselves an important point.
They would ultimately fall to the Coyotes, 4-3, with 14 seconds remaining in overtime. Nonetheless, regardless the loss, they left the ice at Wells Fargo Center on a high note after three largely forgettable periods of play against the NHL's worst team to date.
The Coyotes came into the matchup winless on the season, with an 0-10-1 record. They held on to a 3-1 lead until 53 seconds remained in the third period. The Flyers pulled the goalie and added a sixth skater to the ice. An Ivan Provorov slapshot was stopped by Coyotes goalie Scott Wedgewood, but Jordan Weal smacked in the rebound to make it 3-2.

While the late magic resulted in no harm for the Coyotes, who emerged from the game with their first victory of the season, the Flyers salvaged a point in what would have been an embarrassing loss.
Of particular note was the play of defenseman Ivan Provorov, who blocked three shots and earned an assist on each Flyers goal. The 20-year-old Russian has quickly risen to be one of the most important pieces on the young Flyers roster.
The Flyers improve to 6-5-1, and they sit just three points out of first place in a crowded Metropolitan Division
They travel to Chicago for a rematch of the 2010 Stanley Cup against the Blackhawks on Wednesday.
