Grandfather Charged After Baby Abandoned In Philly Walmart: Reports
A baby was abandoned in a Philadelphia Walmart in January. The baby's father was charged, and now the grandfather is reportedly charged.
PHILADELPHIA — The grandfather of a child abandoned in a Philadelphia Walmart has reportedly been charged in connection with the January incident.
Action News and NBC10 report Haamza Muhammad, 41, was charged with endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person, theft, and conspiracy.
The incident occurred on Thursday, Jan. 18 at the Walmart on the 4300 block of Byberry Road.

According to police, Alganon Muhammad, 22, came into the store at about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 18 with two other people, one of whom authorities said was Haamza Muhammad, and his own 3-month-old child.
Police said the group was confronted by store security after they left the checkout area under suspicion of theft.

The three adults left the store, leaving the young girl behind, police said.
The child was not hurt and was to Frankford-Torresdale Hospital for evaluation before being released to her mother.
Alganon Muhammad was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, retail theft, criminal conspiracy, and recklessly endangering another person.
A white woman was with Alganon and Haamza Muhammad, police said. Authorities are still working to identify her.
