Man Shoots Father In Head With Assault Rifle: Philly Police

Philadelphia Police said Sohan Panjrolia is on the loose after killing his father with an assault rifle over the weekend.

PHILADELPHIA — Police in Philadelphia are looking for a man in connection with the murder of his 60-year-old father over the weekend.

Officers were called to a home on the 1900 block of Conwell Avenue in Bustleton on Aug. 3 at about 9:31 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

Police found a 60-year-old man identified as Mahendra B. Panjrolia in the living room area suffering from a significant gunshot wound to the head in the home.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:35 p.m.

Police determined the victim's son, Sohan Panjrolia, 31, was in the home as well as the victim's wife.

Sohan Panjrolia went to the home's upstairs and got an assault rifle, police said.

He went into a fist floor bathroom and fired one round, then left the bathroom, pointed the gun at his parents, and fired several shots at his father, hitting him in the head, police said.

Sohan Panjrolia left the home, still armed, in his 1999 gray Toyota Camry. The vehicle was located several blocks away; however, Sohan Panjrolia remains at large.

Police described Sohan Panjrolia as standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.

He has brown eyes and a shaved head he was last seen wearing an orange shirt and beige basketball shorts.

According to police, Sohan suffers from Schizophrenia and maybe using other narcotics

Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
