PennDOT Fixes Philly Sign Typo: 'Forgot To Proofread'

PennDOT Tuesday poked fun at themselves for the spelling error, "Cenrtal Phila," on an Interstate 95 ramp sign in Philadelphia.

"We were so focused getting this done and reopening the 95 Cottman ramp that we moved a little too quickly...and forgot to proofread," PennDOT said on social media. "Sorry, Philadelphia. All fixed now."

PHILADELPHIA — After some good-natured ribbing online, PennDOT has fixed the spelling error on an Interstate 95 on ramp sign in Philadelphia.

The sign went viral Sunday and Monday for the typo, which read "Cenrtal Phila," rather than "Central Phila," at the Cottman Avenue on ramp to I-95 south in Philadelphia.

"We were so focused getting this done and reopening the 95 Cottman ramp that we moved a little too quickly...and forgot to proofread," PennDOT said on social media. "Sorry, Philadelphia. All fixed now."
