Person Killed On I-95 Tuesday Identified, Striking Vehicle Sought
An unknown make and model silver sedan fatally struck a man who had just crashed his vehicle on Interstate 95 south in Philly, police said.
PHILADELPHIA — Pennsylvania State Police have identified the person killed on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia Tuesday and are looking for the vehicle that fatally struck him.
Authorities said Peter Sorochinski, Bucks County, was killed on I-95 south at about 8:57 p.m.
The crash occurred by near mile marker 20.8, near the on-ramp from Market Street, police said.

According to police, a vehicle was driving in the left lane of I-95 south when it struck the impact attenuator on the left side of the roadway.
After the initial collision, the vehicle crossed two lanes of travel, struck the concrete barrier on the right side of the highway, and came to rest in the merging lane.

Police said the driver, later identified as Sorochinski, got out of his vehicle after suffering a suspected head injury.
Another vehicle stopped, and its driver called 911 to report the crash and help Sorochinski.
The caller told police Sorochinski made a phone call and when he completed the call, suddenly stepped into traffic in the right southbound lane.
Sorochinski was immediately struck by an unknown make and model silver sedan, drove off after striking him, police said.
Sorochinski's body was thrown into the road, where it was struck by two other vehicles. Those two vehicle operators remained on scene.
Sorochinski sustained mortal wounds and was pronounced deceased at 9:08 p.m.
