Police Horse, Trooper Assaulted At Lincoln Financial Field: Cops

Six people were arrested during Eagles-Vikings festivities Sunday. One man allegedly punched a police horse and a state trooper.

PHILADELPHIA – Another man is accused of assaulting a police horse, as well as the mounted trooper riding the horse, at Lincoln Financial Field during Philadelphia Eagles playoff festivities, according to Philadelphia Police.

Police said Andrew Tornetta, 19, of North Wales, Montgomery County, was arrested for an alleged assault of a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper and his police horse outside Lincoln Financial Field before the Eagles-Vikings NFC Championship game at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21.

Police said a Pennsylvania State Police Corporal was mounted on his horse in lot M5 outside the stadium.

Police said Tonrnetta is accused of trying to flee and blend in with the crowd, but he was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

Tornetta has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and related charges, police said.

Tonertta previously pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in a Montgomery Township incident that occurred in January 2017, court records show.

Last week at the Eagles-Atlanta Falcons game, a Lehigh County man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police horse.

Police said five others were arrested Sunday in connection with the game.

Two were for taken in for disorderly conduct and three people who were allegedly selling counterfeit tickets were arrested, police said.

That's pretty good considering how many people were out before and after the game.

However, Temple University Police said 10 cars were vandalized with green spray paint sometime after the game Sunday. They are investigating the vandalism
