'Return Of The Cone:' No Spot Saving After Shoveling, Philly PD Says

Philadelphia Police are calling Friday's snow storm "The Return of the Cone" and reminded residents spot saving is illegal.

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia finally got accumilating snow after a few years of winter droughts.

And with snow comes shoveling, and with shoveling comes people trying to save parking spots.

But Philadelphia Police are here to remind residents that saving spots after shoveling is not permitted.

Police called it "The Return of the Cone," and used a poster from the 2003 hit fantasy film "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" to share their anti-spot saving message.

"It's all here - the snow, the ice, the saving of parking spots with assorted household items, the 20-year-old dated memes...we're not happy either," police said on social media. "Remember - saving parking spots is illegal - shovel and share!"

Philadelphia is under a snow emergency, meaning vehicles must not be parked on snow emergency routes or risk being towed or ticketed.
