White Houses Issues Statement On Philadelphia Unrest
In a statement issued Wednesday, the White House said the unrest in Philadelphia is a result of "Liberal Democrats' war against the police."

PHILADELPHIA — The White House Wednesday issued a statement on the protests and looting in Philadelphia following the death of 27-year-old Walter Wallace Jr.
In a news release Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany defended police and reiterated that the Trump Administration is ready to send federal troops to the city.
"The riots in Philadelphia are the most recent consequence of the Liberal Democrats’ war against the police," the statement reads. "Law enforcement is an incredibly dangerous occupation, and thousands of officers have given their lives in the line of duty."

While the statement defends police, it also calls for full investigations into lethal use of force and that "the facts must be followed wherever they lead to ensure fair and just results."
"In America, we resolve conflicts through the courts and the justice system," the statement reads. "We can never allow mob rule."

The statement echoed comments made by White House communications director Alyssa Farah who said officials are monitoring the unrest in Philadelphia and are prepared to deploy federal resources to the city if warranted.
Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw Tuesday said 91 people were arrested following protests and looting Monday and Tuesday and that 30 police officers were hurt, including a sergeant who was struck by a truck and suffered a broken leg.
More looting and protesting took place Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
