Tower Health launches walk-in mammogram screening events (dailylocal.com) β Phoenixville women 40 and older can get a walk-in screening mammogram without an appointment at Phoenixville Hospital's North Tower Lobby on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eligible participants who haven't had a mammogram in the past year can complete the quick screening and receive a complimentary ice cream treat while taking care of an important health check.

Malgudi Cafe Draws Noncompliant Follow-Up Inspection (mychesco.com) β Chester County health inspectors recently cited several restaurants for food-safety issues, but Dante's Italian Bistro and the PASD Mobile Food Trailer in Phoenixville were both listed as fully compliant on Aug. 19. Other eateries in Exton, West Chester, and nearby towns were flagged for temperature control, sanitation, and handwashing problems. Residents can report concerns or suspected foodborne illness directly to the county.

ICv2: People on The Move: Chessex Owner Donald Reents Retires (icv2.com) β Longtime Chessex owner Donald Reents has retired, handing the dice maker to a new ownership group after decades in the games industry. His career included founding Chessex East distribution in Phoenixville which helped build the company's national reach. The new leaders say they'll continue the legacy of Chessex's popular gaming accessories.
