Chesco Man, Former HS Teacher, Pleads Guilty To Sexual Assault Of Student
A Chester County man and former ROTC teacher in Montgomery County has pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a student.

LANSDALE, PA — A former North Penn ROTC teacher has pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a student, according to court documents.
Mark Miller, 46, of Glenmoore, who was previously a military science instructor with the JROTC program, pleaded guilty to charges of institutional sexual assault and related counts in Montgomery County Court this week.
Court documents show that Miller could face up to seven years in prison. Sentencing is pending, and a hearing to determine a date not yet been scheduled.

Students told the school about Miller's contact with a student in December, 2016, officials said, and North Penn Principal Todd Bauer reported the incident to Towamencin police. Miller was arrested on Dec. 14.
Miller submitted his letter of resignation that day, the school said.

According to the criminal complaint, a student told police that Miller had been having intercourse with the female victim for several months. The story was corroborated by two other students who were also told of the situation by the victim.
Another student said that Miller had been pursuing the victim since the beginning of the school year and that his marriage would soon end in divorce, police said.
The victim later told police that Miller had first engaged in sexual acts with her on Nov. 12, when they were returning from an ROTC event in Valley Forge. This occurred in a parking lot at the Lansdale Business Park, police said.
Another incident occurred sometime between Nov. 12 and Dec. 10, according to authorities, and then again at the Lansdale Marriott Courtyard Hotel on Dec. 10 and 11. These details were later proven in an ensuing investigation by detectives, the complaint states.
"Charges such as these against Miller are contrary to the core values that educators hold true and will never be tolerated in the North Penn School District," the school said in a statement. "As always, North Penn High School has the staff and resources in place for students who may need extra support during this time. Student safety is a top priority of the North Penn School District. Students are commended for reporting and acting upon this serious issue."
Miller previously served in the US Air Force, where he attained the rank of major.
He currently remains free on bail, pending sentencing.
