Chesco Woman Wounded In Acid Attack In France: School

A student from Chester County was among four American woman sprayed with acid in France on Sunday, Boston College confirmed.

A student from Chester County was among four American woman sprayed with acid in France on Sunday, according to Boston College.

Courtney Siverling, of Chester Springs, along with three of her classmates from Boston College, were sprayed in the face outside of a train station in Marseille, the school said.

Siverling and two others were enrolled in the university's Paris Program, while a fourth was a student at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.

"It appears that the students are fine, considering the circumstances, though they may require additional treatment for burns,” Nick Gozik, who directs the university's Office of International Programs, said in a statement issued on Boston College's website. “We have been in contact with the students and their parents and remain in touch with French officials and the U.S. Embassy regarding the incident."

All four students were released from the hospital Sunday.

A 41-year-old French woman who has been described as "disturbed" has been arrested, authorities confirmed. The incident is not believed to be related to terrorism.
