Chester Co. Coronavirus Updates: Courts Closed, 30 Positive Tests
Nearly 400 coronavirus tests have come back negative in Chester County, as of Monday afternoon. Positive cases in the county rose to 30.
CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Chester County's number of coronavirus cases rose to 30 on Monday, while hundreds around the county received tests as officials continued to respond to the spread of the virus.
The number of known positives has roughly doubled since March 16. A total of 388 tests have come back negative, according to statistics from the county health department.

Chester County did not confirm their first positive until March 12, putting them well behind counties like Philadelphia, Bucks, and especially Montgomery, which account for hundreds of cases between them.

Officials note the increase in positive tests is expected both due to the spread of the virus and expanded testing capabilities, which provides a more accurate picture of how the virus has spread locally.
The following municipalities have confirmed cases, as of Monday evening:
- East Goshen: 4
- West Chester: 4
- Uwchlan: 3
- East Marlboroug: 2
- Willistown: 2
- Birmingham: 1
- East Bradford: 1
- East Brandywine: 1
- East Nottingham: 1
- East Pikeland: 1
- East Whiteland: 1
- Easttown: 1
- Malvern: 1
Gov. Wolf issued a stay at home order for seven counties, including Chester, which went into effect at 8 p.m. Monday.
Chester County's government is operating on essential services and programs only until at least Monday, March 30.
Furthermore, all jury hearings and jury services for all civil and criminal trials are canceled and suspended through April 13.
