An 88-year-old Chester County woman reportedly talked a home invader out of raping her by lying and telling him she had AIDS.

An 88-year-old Chester County woman convinced a home invader not to rape her by telling him she had AIDS and that her husband died from the disease, according to multiple media reports.
The incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 when the woman returned home from shopping, according to Parkesburg police.
The suspect, a light skinned black male in his late teens or early 20s, knocked on the door and when she opened it, pushed his way inside and began rifling through her purse, Philly.com reports. He took about $40.

The man then bound her feet, took the batteries from her phones, and left, police said.
It's the latest in a string of disturbing home invasions across Chester County. On Feb. 22, a man who had left a behavioral health facility broke into an East Brandywine home, beat and bound a 72-year-old woman, and tossed her under the staircase, where she was not found for four days. The incidents do not appear to be related.
There was also a home invasion in Uwchlan Township on Jan. 5, and two incidents that were possibly related in Chester Springs in November. Armed home invaders ransacked an Upper Uwchlan home in October.
