"It's a shame someone left my child to die on the side of the road all alone."

HONEY BROOK, PA — The family of Chester County's Gavin Manness wants closure.
Manness, just 20, was killed on Saturday night, Sept. 16, as he was walking home on Hill Road. He was struck by a vehicle which promptly fled the scene and left him to die. Authorities are investigating.
His family, meanwhile, is hoping to help find the person responsible and gain closure by posting a reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

As of Tuesday afternoon, their GoFundMe campaign had already raised $1,562 in just under a day. They posted a goal of $5,000.
"I would love to think the person responsible would just want to come forward after realizing what a horrible mistake they made," wrote Kristi Melicher, who launched the GoFundMe page. "But we all know that isn't always the case. Money talks and I'm hoping we can make enough to encourage the person to come forward or at the very least be ratted out by a greedy friend."
