Firefighters Respond To Phoenixville Home Thursday
A faulty heater led to a smoky situation in Phoenixville on Thursday afternoon.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A faulty heater led to heavy smoke in a Phoenixville home on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on the 200 block of Washington Avenue.
When crews with the Phoenixville Fire Department first arrived, smoke could be seen coming out of the row home from the street.

The one occupant of the home was evacuated.
Shortly thereafter, crews were able to discover the source of the smoke as th e heater.

Power to the heater was shut off, and crews used positive pressure ventilation to clear smoke from the house, the fire dpeartment said.
The road was briefly closed as the incident was handled. All told, responders were on scene for 35 minutes, according to officials.
