PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Anyone in downtown Phoenixville on Tuesday afternoon may have seen a distinctive site: a riderless horse running on Bridge Street.

The horse was not exactly a local mare. In fact, she had traveled a considerable distance to get the chance to check out downtown.

She came from a farm in Chester Springs, traveling on Route 113 to arrive at her "destination."

The video below, taken from borough hall, shows her trotting at a relaxed pace - and in the correct lane - on Bridge Street.

It turns out that the horse had thrown off a 16-year-old girl who was riding her on the Chester Springs farm, police said.

The teenager was uninjured, but shaken, and the horse just continued running.
