Massive Sinkholes Abound In Upper Providence Area After Storms

The weekend rains left behind significant flooding and damage to multiple area roads.

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — The weekend rains left behind significant flooding and damage to multiple roads around the Upper Providence area.

Walnut Street in Mont Clare was opened up by a sinkhole, and damage extended around the area near Schuykill Canal Park.

A portion of Cider Mill Road was also shut down as a deep pit formed just off the shoulder of the road. The road remained shut down Monday night between Hunt Club Drive and Upper Indianhead Road.
