Mont Clare Man Charged With Child Rape: Cops
The sexual assaults happened over a lengthy period between 2003 and 2009, authoriites said.

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — A Mont Clare man has been arrested for raping a child over a period of six years, authorities said.
Richard Alan Beener, Sr., 58, of the 600 block of Bridge Street, sexually abused the victim between 2003 and 2009, police said. The victim was not yet a teenager at the time of the assaults, according to charging documents.
The Upper Providence Police Department was made aware of allegations against Beener, spurring an "extensive investigation" into him.

Police obtained a search warrant, and arrested Beener when they went to his house on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Beener does have a criminal record. He was sentenced to two years of probation in 2016 for a 2014 case of indecent exposure. He had charges of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession withdrawn back in 2007.
He now faces numerous charges, including five felony counts each of rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, and indecent assault. He's also charged with a felony count of corruption of minors, and five misdemeanor counts each of indecent exposure and open lewdness.
Beener was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility on Jan. 8, where he was arraigned.
He posted bail, which was set at 10 percent of $100,000, and was released on Jan. 9, court documents show.
A preliminary hearing has been set for Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Richard H. Walsh.
