Mother, Daughter, Dog Recovering After West Pikeland Hit And Run

A mother and daughter are recovering after a truck hit them while they out for a walk and then fled the scene.

WEST PIKELAND, PA — A mother and daughter and family dog are recovering after a truck hit them while they out for a walk and then fled the scene.

Annie Hillegas, 16, and her mother both suffered broken bones in the incident. The teen girl was was airlifted to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in serious condition.

Both mother and daughter are recovering, and the dog has since been found safe, NBC 10 reports.

The incident occurred on Oct. 20 at around 5 p.m. on the 1900 block of Art School Road.

The vehicle, a white contractor-type pick-up truck with a ladder rack on the roof and lettering on the side, struck the pedestrians in the road, police said.

The driver is described only as an older white male.

The vehicle was last seen heading south on Art School Road.

Police are continuing their search for the driver.
