Phoenixville Man Finds Buried Handgun Stolen 13 Years Ago: Cops
A local man came across something surprising while out for a walk with his metal detector recently in Phoenixville.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A local man came across something surprising while out for a walk with his metal detector recently in Phoenixville.
The discovery was made on Sept. 20 at around 7:30 p.m.
The local 25-year-old resident was scouring the woods behind Reservoir Park with his detector when it went off, according to a blurb recently published in the Phoenixville Police Department blotters.

He dug into the ground and found a Berette pistol, police said. He then reported it to police.
Officer Dobry responded to the scene and ran the serial number on the gun. It turns out, the weapon was reported stolen back in 2005 from a home on Emmett Street.

No arrests have been made.
