Phoenixville Police Issue Warrant For Attempted Homicide

Breaking: A warrant has been issued for a shooting and an attempted homicide which occurred in Phoenixville in September.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A warrant has been issued for a shooting and an attempted homicide which occurred in Phoenixville in September.

Police said that Mustafa Thompson, 31, is wanted in connection to the Sept. 2 incident, which occurred on the 500 block of Ringold Street, authorities said.

No further information about the shooting was immediately available on Monday.

Thompson should be considered armed and dangerous, authorities said. He has previously been charged with simple assault and strangulation in unrelated cases, according to court documents.

The shooting, previously unreported by authorities, is one of two incidents which occurred in the borough in September. On Sept. 28, Keyon La-Shawn Carpenter, 21, shot and killed Joshua Mitchell, 20, after an argument in the Children's Plaza in downtown Phoenixville.

Carpenter was arrested in Philadelphia on Sept. 29.
