PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- There has been an increase in vehicle break-ins around the borough, police said.
Authorities are reminding residents to lock their vehicles at all times.
Police said that in every case where there were items stolen from a vehicle, the vehicles were left unlocked.

Similar crime waves have been reported in nearby suburbs like Hatboro and Norristown. Authorities have said in the past that car thieves are often very simple and straightforward in their operation, and go around pulling on every car door they see to see if it is unlocked. A locked door is very often sufficient enough deterrent.
