Phoenixville Stabbing Suspect Arrested At Mexican Border: Cops
The man who police say stabbed a woman in the chest multiple times in Phoenixville was arrested trying to cross into Mexico.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The man who police say stabbed a woman in the chest multiple times in Phoenixville last month was arrested at the Mexican border in Texas on Monday morning, according to authorities.
Francisco Hernandez, 32, a Guatemalan national with a residence in Warminster, tried to flee the country into Mexico at the Brownsville, Texas Gateway International Bridge, police said.
Hernandez, also known as Leo Alvarado, was captured by Mexican officials and turned over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers, who were told that Hernandez lacked the proper documentation to enter Mexico, CBP said in a statement.

Hernandez was then turned over by CBP officers to the Cameron County, Texas Sheriff's Department, and now awaits extradition to Chester County.
“Our frontline officers maintain strict vigilance while conducting their inspectional duties and that dedication and attention to detail resulted in the apprehension of a man wanted for attempted homicide in Pennsylvania,” Port Director Petra Horne, Brownsville Port of Entry, said in a news release announcing the arrest of Hernandez.

The stabbing occurred at around 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the First Presbyterian Church parking lot, near the intersection of Main and Morgan streets in Phoenixville.
Hernandez stabbed a 36-year-old woman from Philadelphia multiple times in the chest, nearly killing her, police said.
It is not yet clear what led to the stabbing.
