ROYERSFORD, PA -- A Royersford police officer was honored at the borough council meeting Tuesday night after helping to save a man's life when he suffered a heart attack in February.
Officer Joseph Oberholtzer responded to a call at the Cameron Court apartments on February 7 at about 5:45 a.m., according to a report.
A 60-year-old man was suffering cardiac arest and had a faint pulse, the report states.

Oberholtzer began to administer CPR, and then used an Automated External Defibrillator to shock the man's heart into beating again, the Pottstown Mercury reports.
“You’re willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to save someone’s life is to be commended,” Mayor John Guest reportedly wrote in the commendation. “Joe, you can take special pride in knowing that your efforts had a positive effect on the quality of life in the Borough of Royersford.”
