WATCH: Phoenixville Area Crews Battle Fire At Local Home

The garage of a nearby home went up in flames on Tuesday morning.

EAST PIKELAND, PA -- Several area fire departments responded to the scene of a fire at a home in East Pikeland on Tuesday morning, the Phoenixville Fire Department said.

Kimberton Fire Company was the first on the scene at around 11 a.m., officials said. They ran into flames bursting from a garage attached to the home.

The crews made progress on limiting the fire as backup arrived. The flames were damped down using tank water from Engine and Rescue 61 until a water supply was established, officials said.

Two additional tankers arrived to provide additional water. Phoenixville’s Engine 65-3 hooked up to a fire hyrdrant on Hares Hill Road near Miller Road and funneled water back to the scene.

There was minimum fire damage to the breezeway adjacent to the garage, and smoke damage to the home, but most of the fire damage was contained to the garage, according to officials.
