Pennsylvania offers 71 delegates for Republicans, and 181 delegates for Democrats. There are more delegates at the Democratic National Convention, and the state's primary carries comparable weight in both races.
In polls taken around the state, Pennsylvania is aligned with the race's front runners.
On the Republican side, Pennsylvania leans heavily toward Donald Trump, who holds a 20 point lead over Ted Cruz, according to the most recent polls from Real Clear Politics.
In an average of polls taken from April 4 through 15, Trump leads with 44.5 percent of the vote, followed by Ted Cruz with 24.3 percent and John Kasich with 23.5 percent.
For polls taken among Democrats during the same time period, Hillary Clinton has seen her commanding lead over Bernie Sanders wane significantly in recent weeks, Real Clear Politics reports.
Clinton previously led 55 to 27 percent, and now leads 51 to 38 percent.
