2 Men Sentenced In Toddler's Shooting Death

PITTSBURGH, PA — Two men were sentenced Wednesday for the fatal shooting of a toddler last year in Downtown Pittsburgh.
Markez Anger, 23, and Londell Falconer, 26, both were sentenced to life in prison with parole.
De'Avry Thomas was 18 months old when he was shot in May 2022 as he sat in a car seat in his mother's vehicle on Fourth Avenue near PPG Place. They were found guilty of criminal homicide charges in June. The infant was not the intended target; it's unclear who was.

Kahlil Darden, De’Avry’s godfather, told WTAE-TV after the verdict that he plans to transform the former Imagine Penn Hills Charter School into a safe space for kids. He intends to call it
the De'Avry A. Thomas Community Center.
