2nd Pittsburgh Police Officer Dies Of COVID-19
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police is mourning the loss of another officer to the coronavirus.
PITTSBURGH, PA — COVID-19 has claimed the life of a second Pittsburgh police officer.
Sgt. Richard 'Rick' Howe died at St. Clair Hospital of coronavirus complication. Howe, 51, of Cecil, Washington County, was a 24-year-veteran of the force.
Howe worked as a motorcycle unit supervisor within the Special Deployment Division under Commander Ed Trapp. "We lost a good officer, a good supervisor, and an even better person today," Trapp said.

Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert knew Howe for more than 20 years and worked with him at Zone 6 and at the Special Deployment Division.
"He was a good man, cop, father and husband," Schubert said. "He will be missed dearly."

Howe is survived by his wife Cali, son Josh, and daughters, Faith and Christine.
Funeral arrangements were not immediately announced.
Officer Brian Rowland died Sept. 26 of coronavirus complications. The 21-year veteran of the force worked in Zone 6 in the West End.
