3 Pittsburgh-Area Jenny Craig Locations Among 500 To Close: Report

PITTSBURGH, PA — Three Pittsburgh Jenny Craig locations are among the 13 in Pennsylvania and 500 nationwide that will close, according to documents obtained by NBC News. The weight loss and management company told workers in an email late Tuesday it would close "due to its inability to secure additional financing," NBC reported.

The last day for hourly center workers was Tuesday, according to NBC. The last day for salaried corporate and field employees will be May 5.

The California-based company provides meal plans, food delivery and coaching for clients attempting to lose weight. The first Jenny Craig weight loss center opened in 1983.

The company's Pittsburgh locations are in Scott, Ohio Township and Monroeville.
