8 Men Charged In Brutal Pittsburgh Homicide
Eight men allegedly entered an Allegheny County Jail cell and closed the door. When they left minutes later, a man as fatally wounded.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Allegheny County Police have charged eight men in connection with the death last month of an inmate at the county jail.
On May 13, police were requested to respond to the assault of a man inside a jail cell. The man,Tyrone Good, 44, who himself was charged with homicide, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to the county medical examiner's office, Good died of blunt force injuries and also suffered superficial stab wounds.

Police reviewed surveillance video of the incident which showed six inmates entering Good’s cell at 12:44 pm. A few minutes later, two additional inmates entered the cell and closed the door behind them.
Police determined the incident lasted six minutes and 30 seconds.

Through surveillance videos, witness interviews, and evidence recovered throughout the jail, detectives were able to identify the eight individuals involved. After consultation with the district attorney’s office, charges have been filed against the following:
- Kendall McKoy, 24
- Justin Allen, 25
- Delvonte Woodson, 20
- Jerrell Rockymore, 18
- Mark Beavers, 27
- Tavarius Lee, 20
- Shawn Davis, 23
- Anthony Schmitt, 24
All eight men are facing multiple charges including criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy and tampering with physical evidence. All remain in the county jail pending preliminary arraignment.
Good allegedly killed his girlfriend, Michelle Sturdivant, 44, in December. He was accused of beating and burning her before abandoning her naked corpse in a North Side home.
