After 60 Years, Landmark Pittsburgh Restaurant Closing For Good
The eatery has been a city staple since 1958.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Alexander's Italian Bistro, a landmark in Bloomfield for more than 60 years, is closing for good. Owner Kim Colaizzi Ifft announced the closure on the restaurant's Facebook page.
"As the chapter closes on Alexander’s, we take with us the most full heart," she wrote. "A heart full of memories, and laughter, and now tears. We are blessed to call everyone of our customers our friends, and we thank you for keeping us at the heart of Bloomfield for all of these years. "
The restauant, first opened as Alto in 1958, was renamed Bobby C's when Bobby Colaizzi took it over in 1968. When Ifft's father, Alex, took over in 1977, the eatery was renamed Alexander's.
