ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — Allegheny County voters elected a new chief executive and treasurer Tuesday, while the longtime district attorney appeared to hang onto his seat.

The Associated Press projected that Democrat Sara Innamorato, 37, defeated Republican Joe Rockey. Innamoroto would replace Rich Fitzgerald, the Democratic incumbent who is term limited and leaving office after 12 years.

All results are unofficial until certified by the county elections board.

Innamorato and Rockey were vying to replace Fitzgerald, who is term-limited and leaving office after 12 years.

In the district attorney's race, Dugan and Zappala repeated their clash in the Democratic primary. Dugan defeated Zappala, but Zappala - who has held the office for a quarter of a century - received enough write-in votes in the Republican primary that he was able to run as the GOP candidate in the race.

Brusellars and Ohligher were running to replace longtime treasurer John Weinstein, who decided not to run for reelection to unsuccessfully pursue the county executive job.
