Allegheny County Coronavirus Cases Surge Again

PITTSBURGH, PA - Allegheny County's confirmed coronavirus cases have increased to 265 as of 11 a.m. Saturday, the county health department announced. That's up from 219 cases on Saturday and 158 cases on Friday.

Thirty-five people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak, up from 31 on Saturday.

With 41 confirmed cases each in Butler and Westmoreland counties, 23 in Washington County and 22 in Beaver County, each in Beaver and Washington counties, that brings the total number of
coronavirus cases in the five-county southwestern Pennsylvania region to 392 as of Sunday morning. That's up from 303 on Saturday.

There have been four coronavirus deaths in southwestern Pennsylvania, with two each occurring in Allegheny and Butler counties.

According to Pennsylvania Department of Health figures, Allegheny County has recorded the fourth-most coronavirus cases in the state behind Montgomery, Philadelphia and Delaware counties.

Residents of the five-county region remain under a stay-at-home order issued by Gov. Tom Wolf. The edict is in effect until at least April 6.
