Allegheny County Coronavirus Death Toll Rises

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA - A third Allegheny County resident has died from coronavirus and the county saw its largest daily increase yet in the number of confirmed cases from Friday to Saturday. The number of cases was up 76, from 476 to 552.

The individual who died was in their 90s and had been hospitalized.

Eighty-six people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak, up from 78 on Friday.

With 110 confirmed cases in Westmoreland County, 75 in Butler County, 65 in Beaver County and 40 in Washington County, that brings the total number of coronavirus cases in the five-county southwestern Pennsylvania region to 842 as of Saturday morning. That's up from 720 on Friday Morning and 644 on of Thursday.

There have been seven coronavirus deaths thus far in the five-county region, with three in Allegheny and two each in Butler and Beaver counties.

According to Pennsylvania Department of Health figures, Allegheny County has recorded the fourth-most coronavirus cases in the state behind Montgomery, Philadelphia and Delaware counties.

All Pennsylvania counties remain under a stay-at-home order through at least April 30. Gov. Tom Wolf has ordered schools and non-life-sustaining businesses closed indefinitely.
