Allegheny County Coronavirus Deaths, Cases Rise Again
Here are the latest coronavirus case statistics for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania..
PITTSBURGH, PA - Coronavirus now has claimed the lives of 73 people in Allegheny County, the county health department announced Friday. That's up from 71 on Friday and 69 on Thursday.
The number of confirmed or probable coronavirus cases in the county was 1,198 as of 11 a.m. Saturday. That's up from 1,117 on Friday and 1,149 on Thursday.
Two hundred and eleven people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak, up from 208 on Friday and 204 on Thursday.

With 337 confirmed cases in Beaver County, 317 in Westmoreland County, 168 in Butler County and 96 in Washington County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county
southwestern Pennsylvania region to 2,116. That's up from2,059 on Friday and 2,017 as of Thursday.
According to the state Department of Health, there have now been been 144 coronavirus deaths
thus far in the five-county region: Seventy-three in Allegheny County, 46 in Beaver County, 17 in Westmoreland County, six in Butler County and two in Washington County. That's up from 142 on Friday.

According to state Department of Health figures, Allegheny County has recorded the ninth-most coronavirus cases in the state behind Berks, Bucks, Delaware, Lehigh, Luzerene, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties.
Gov. Tom Wolf has extended the stay-at-home order for all Pennsylvania counties until May 8, and has said the state will begin gradually reopening in May. Schools will remain closed through the end of the academic year.
