Allegheny County Flu Death Toll Rises
Two more flu deaths have been reported, according to the county health department.
PITTSBURGH, PA - Two additional Allegheny County residents have died from flu complications, bringing the total to seven deaths thus far this season.
According to the Allegheny County Health Department, one person was in their 60s and the other was in their 40s. The health department is reviewing their cases to determine if either had underlying medical conditions.
While there has been a significant decline in reported flu cases in the county since the beginning of the year, health department officials say influenza remains very active both locally and across the state. The health department advises anyone who has not yet received a flu shot to get one as soon as possible.
