Allegheny County Reports New Coronavirus Deaths

Here are the latest coronavirus case statistics for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA - For the first time in three days, Allegheny County reported new coronavirus deaths Tuesday. The death toll in the county is now 109, up from 102, the county health department announced.

Seventy-nine of the deaths have occurred at long-term care facilities, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The number of coronavirus cases in the county climbed to 1,375, up from 1,365 on Monday and 1,345 on Sunday.

Two hundred and forty-four people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak, up from 240 on Monday and 238 on Sunday.

With 458 confirmed cases in Beaver County, 403 in Westmoreland County, 180 in Butler County and 120 in Washington County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county
southwestern Pennsylvania region to 2,536. That's up from 2,500 on Monday and 2,474 on Sunday.

According to the state Department of Health, there have now been been 211 coronavirus deaths
thus far in the five-county region: One hundred and nine in Allegheny County, 68 in Beaver County, 26 in Westmoreland County, six in Butler County and two in Washington County. That's the same number as Sunday.

According to state Department of Health figures, Allegheny County has recorded the ninth-most coronavirus cases in the state behind Berks, Bucks, Delaware, Lehigh, Luzerene, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties.
