Allegheny County Reports No New Coronavirus Deaths

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Allegheny County Health Department reported no new coronavirus deaths on Thursday. The death toll in the county from the outbreak remains at 139.

The number of coronavirus cases climbed to 1,551, up from 1,545 on Wednesday and 1,526 on Tuesday.

There were no new COVID-19 related hospitalizations reported Thursday. The number of people who have been hospitalized during the outbreak remains at 285.

With 509 confirmed cases in Beaver County, 419 in Westmoreland County, 197 in Butler County and 127 in Washington County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county southwestern Pennsylvania region to 2,803. That's up from 2,781 on Wednesday and 2,754 on Tuesday.

According to the state Department of Health, there have now been been 259 coronavirus deaths
thus far in the five-county region: One hundred and thirty-nine in Allegheny County, 78 in Beaver County, 32 in Westmoreland County, six in Butler County and four in Washington County.

With the outbreak slowing throughout the region, Gov. Tom Wolf has announced that all of southwestern Pennsylvania can begin reopening Friday with the exception of Beaver County.
