Allegheny County Sees Six New Coronavirus Deaths; Cases Dropping
Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Wednesday reported six new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll now stands at 297.
Of the latest victims, four were in their 80s, one was in his or her 90s and one was over 100.
The county reported 27 new cases. The total number of cases in the county during the outbreak is 9,576. There have been 911 hospitalizations in the county during the outbreak.

With 1,640 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,423 in Beaver County, 924 in Washington County and 729 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 14,342 when Allegheny County numbers are included.
According to the state Department of Health, there have been 477 deaths in the region from the virus: Two hundred and ninety-seven in Allegheny County, 95 in Beaver County, 48 in Westmoreland County, 21 in Washington County and 17 in Butler County.
