Allegheny Health Network To Restrict Patient Visits
The restriction is a response to the coronavirus and influenza outbreaks.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Allegheny Health Network will restrict patient visitations at its hospitals as the coronavirus outbreak continues to grow and influenza continues to be a problem. The new policy will limit the number of visitors in a patient's room to one.
Additionally, individuals who might be ill themselves or experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, or sore throat are asked not not to visit the hospital unless they are seeking medical treatment.
“At a time of heightened public health concerns related to bothCOVID-19 and a particularly severe influenza season, it is critical that we take every step possible to protect our patients and caregivers from the risk of exposure to infectious disease,” Brian Parker, AHN’s Chief
Quality Officer, said in a statement.
