Andrew McCutchen Returning To Pittsburgh Pirates
One of the best players in Pirates' history is signing a one-year deal to come back.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A beloved former Pittsburgh Pirate is coming home. Free-agent outfielder Andrew McCutchen has agreed to a one-year deal with the team, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
McCutchen, 36, is a five-time All-Star who won the National League's most valuable player award in 2013. The Pirates selected him with the 11th pick in the 2005 draft.
McCutchen was the catalyst that drove a previously moribund Pirates’ franchise that had not had a winning season since 1992 to three consecutive postseason appearances in 2013-15. He was traded to the San Francisco Giants in 2018 in a deal that included current Pirates star Bryan Reynolds, who recently asked to be traded.

In addition to the Giants, McCutchen since has played for the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers. He batted .237 for Milwaukee last year.
McCutchen is the fourth-highest home run hitter in Pirates history. With 203, he ranks behind only three Hall-of-Famers: Willie Stargell, Ralph Kiner and Roberto Clemente.
