Bed Bugs Force Pittsburgh-Area School District To Close
An exterminator is being brought in to treat the problem, district officials said.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Clairton City School District will have an early dismissal Thursday and will cancel classes Friday to remove bed bugs that were found in the building housing the district's elementary, middle and high schools.
In a district letter sent to parents Wednesday, the district said staff had inspected the building and an exterminator will treat multiple classrooms and commons areas.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and consult with public health and pest control professionals to eliminate any remaining bedbugs in the building and to minimize the potential for future bed bug activity in the school, as necessary,” the letter stated.
