Beloved Western PA McDonald's Worker Ruth Shuster Dies At 100
Ruth Shuster worked at a Pittsburgh-area McDonald's location even after she became a centenarian.

IRWIN, PA — For nearly 30 years, Ruth Shuster worked at the McDonald's Big Mac Museum. That longevity itself is impressive, but Shuster worked there past her 100th birthday - from 1994 until late December.
"She loved her job cleaning the dining room, meeting new friends and old and giving toys to kids," her obituary stated. "Many people came there just to see her and sing songs like 'You Are My Sunshine' with her."
Mrs. Shuster died Sunday, less than two months before her 101st birthday, which she undoubtedly would have celebrated at McDonald's.

"She had polka birthday parties there annually starting at age 90," the obituary stated.
"For her 100th birthday, McDonald's hosted a special party. And her neighbors arranged a firetruck parade through Irwin, where the mayor gave her a key to the city. She appreciated the many cards she received from all over the world for her hundredth birthday."
