Bills Safety Damar Hamlin Released From Buffalo Hospital
Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who went into cardiac arrest during a game barely a week ago, is now mending at home.

BUFFALO, NY — Buffalo Bills safety and former University of Pittsburgh star Damar Hamlin was discharged Wednesday from Buffalo General Medical Center, nine days after suffering cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Bills announced the move via Twitter.

"We have completed a series of tests and evaluations, and in consultation with the team physicians, we are confident that Damar can be safely discharged to continue his rehabilitation at home and with the Bills," Dr. Jamie Nadler said in a statement. "

Hamlin now is resting at home in Buffalo.
ESPN reported that Bills coach Sean McDermott said Hamlin will determine when he would like to return to the team facility.

"His health is first and foremost on our mind as far as this situation," McDermott said. "And then when he feels ready, we will welcome him back."
After making a tackle in the Jan. 2 Bills-Bengals game, Hamlin, 24, a Pittsburgh native, received a defibrillation and CPR on the field before being taken to the hospital. The University of Cincinnati Medical Center announced his discharge from there on Monday afternoon.
Doctors have not said whether the Central Catholic High School graduate eventually will be able to resume his NFL career.
Hamlin's GoFundMe page to raise money for a children's toy drive, established two years ago,
has now raised more than $8.7 million. The vast majority of the money has poured in since his injury. His initial goal for the campaign was $2,500.
