Consumer Alert Issued For Pittsburgh-Area Restaurant

The Allegheny County Health Department is alerting people to hazards at a Pittsburgh-area restaurant.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Hastina Royal Indian Cuisine on Park Manor Boulevard in Robinson for numerous health code violations.

An inspector on Wednesday observed several live German cockroaches in the back left corner of the kitchen behind the dish shelving. Several dead roaches were also observed. Roach droppings were seen below the electrical panel above the walk-in cooler.

No glue traps or bait stations observed throughout the restaurant.

Fruit flies also were found.

Various foods were being stored at unsafe temperatures.

The walk-in cooler has an unsafe temperature.

The eatery is operating without a valid health permit.

A restaurant with a consumer alert placard is allowed to operate for a temporary period not exceeding 10 days. Another inspection is conducted either prior to the expiration of the temporary period upon request of the eatery owner or on the tenth day.
