Coronavirus Cases Continue Rising In Allegheny County

Here are the latest statistics on the number of caronavirus cases in Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Allegheny County's confirmed coronavirus cases have increased to 325 as of 11 a.m. Tuesday, the county health department announced. That's up from 290 cases on Monday and 265 cases on Sunday.

Fifty-one people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak, up from 38 on Monday.

With 55 confirmed cases in Westmoreland County 49 in Butler County, 44 in Beaver County and 26 in Washington County, that brings the total number of coronavirus cases in the five-county southwestern Pennsylvania region to 499 as of Tuesday morning. That's up from 436 on Monday and 392 on Sunday.

There have been four coronavirus deaths in southwestern Pennsylvania, with two each occurring in Allegheny and Butler counties.

According to Pennsylvania Department of Health figures, Allegheny County has recorded the fourth-most coronavirus cases in the state behind Montgomery, Philadelphia and Delaware counties.

The five-county region and 21 other Pennsylvania counties remain under a stay-at-home order through at least April 30. Gov. Tom Wolf has ordered schools and non-life-sustaning businesses closed indefinitely.
