Coronavirus Deaths Up Again In Allegheny County, Southwest PA

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Coronavirus now has claimed the lives of 119 people in Allegheny County, the county health department announced Friday. That's up from 117 and Thursday and 111 on Wednesday.

The number of coronavirus cases climbed to 1,455, up from 1,439 on Thursday and 1,394 on Wednesday.

Two hundred and fifty-nine people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak, up from 254 on Thursday and 247 on Wednesday.

With 472 confirmed cases in Beaver County, 411 in Westmoreland County, 190 in Butler County and 120 in Washington County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county
southwestern Pennsylvania region to 2,648. That's up from 2,625 on Thursday and 2,569 on Wednesday.

According to the state Department of Health, there have now been been 236 coronavirus deaths
thus far in the five-county region: One hundred and nineteen in Allegheny County, 78 in Beaver County, 29 in Westmoreland County, six in Butler County and four in Washington County. That's up from 230 on Thursday and 219 on Wednesday.

According to state Department of Health figures, Allegheny County has recorded the ninth-most coronavirus cases in the state behind Berks, Bucks, Delaware, Lehigh, Luzerene, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties.
