Coronavirus Deaths Up In Allegheny County, Southwestern PA

Here are the latest coronavirus case statistics for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Coronavirus now has claimed the lives of 111 people in Allegheny County, the county health department announced Wednesday. That's up from 109 on Tuesday and 102 on Monday.

The number of coronavirus cases climbed to 1,394, up from 1,375 on Tuesday and 1,365 on Monday.

Two hundred and forty-seven people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak, up 244 on Tuesday and 242 on Monday.

With 466 confirmed cases in Beaver County, 405 in Westmoreland County, 184 in Butler County and 120 in Washington County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county
southwestern Pennsylvania region to 2,569. That's up from 2,536 on Tuesday and 2,500 on Monday.

According to the state Department of Health, there have now been been 219 coronavirus deaths
thus far in the five-county region: One hundred and eleven in Allegheny County, 73 in Beaver County, 27 in Westmoreland County, six in Butler County and two in Washington County. That's up from 211 on Tuesday.

According to state Department of Health figures, Allegheny County has recorded the ninth-most coronavirus cases in the state behind Berks, Bucks, Delaware, Lehigh, Luzerene, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties.
