Dangerous Flash Flooding Possible In Pittsburgh
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Pittsburgh and all of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Get the details here.
PITTSBURGH, PA —A very moist and unstable air mass could trigger several rounds of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday and trigger flash flooding in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Pittsburgh metro area, the remainder of Allegheny County and counties including Butler, Washington, Beaver, Armstrong, Westmoreland, Lawrence, Mercer and Clarion. The watch is in effect from 8 a.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday.
The weather service is warning of widespread rainfall of as much as two inches, with localized amounts of as much as three-to-four inches.

People are advised to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in flood-prone areas should be prepared to take action if flooding develops.
The weather service previous warned that Saturday also could bring tornadoes and severe thunderstorms with hail and high wind gusts.
